L. Karpenos, MD

Graduated from Fair Lawn High School, Fair Lawn, NJ in 1982
Graduated from Cornell University in 1986 with distinction
Graduated from New York University School of Medicine (NYU) in 1990
Completed Residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein in 1993
Completed training in Cardiology in 1996 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan and has been in private practice in Westport, Connecticut since then.
Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases in 1997 and re-certified in 2007.

Dr. Karpenos has extensive experience in: prevention of coronary disease, cholesterol plaque stabilization and reduction in patients with established coronary and vascular disease, complicated cases of lipid management as well as resistant hypertension. Calcium Scoring utilizing a rapid CAT scan technique allows assessment for early cholesterol plaque build up in many patients and can guide cholesterol therapy to optimize results.

Dr. Karpenos has an extensive experience in echo procedures and latest advances in stress echo, which he introduced to the Westport / Norwalk area in 1996. All echo cardiographic studies in our office are performed personally by Dr. Karpenos to ensure highest quality and accuracy of the diagnostic data utilizing Philips iE33 machine.


BORIS V. SHEYNBERG, MD, PH.D., FACC

Dr. Boris Sheynberg graduated from the 2nd Moscow Medical Institute (Magna cum Laude), completed medicine and cardiology training, including Ph.D., and held the professorship in medicine at Moscow Medical School.

In 1991 Dr. Sheynberg came to this country and completed residency in medicine and completed a 2 year fellowship in cardiology at Norwalk Hospital-Yale University programs. He also had served as fellow at the Cardiovascular Physiology Lab, UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and had completed two-year invasive and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He published more than 30 papers in international and major American medical journals and presented results of his research at the meetings of American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.
